Just a letter

To my dear, blistered feet;

I am sorry I wasn't very smart last week,
and chose to take a walk wearing flip-flops...
knowing full well they would be removed a few minutes into the walk.
What can I say, I love walking barefooted.
I didn't realize how hot the ground was,
Like I said, I wasn't very smart.
It didn't occur to me that yes, it is still summer,
and yes I was walking on asphalt for a good while.
I learned my lesson the hard way,
and I hope you forgive me soon.
I want to walk like a normal person again.
