Just a mashup of sorts.

There was a time when I was never without my camera.  I mean, never!  I had that sucker attached at my hip.  When I didn't have my dSLR I had my simple point and shoot at every single occasion, and it was ALWAYS out.  Then I got my dSLR and of course it came with me everywhere, that thing was a dream come true! At some point in the past few months, I have put my cameras in the bag and there they have sat.  Seldom to make an appearance in the world.  It has been nice not hiding behind the camera, and experiencing life with my own eyes instead of a camera lens.  But I won't lie when I say that I miss being able to go back through my pictures and be taken back to a memory within an instant.  I mean, I can still do that, but eventually my memory won't be so good anymore. (Because I'm SO old...)

This past week was my spring break.  I enjoyed being a mom for the week and got to spend every day with my 3 year old buddy Asher.  We had (or at least I had) so much fun!  We went to the library (twice), Jungle Jim's (he was wishing we could've gone daily), the aquarium, and the zoo.  We watched several episodes of "Wow, Wow, Wubzy" (ps. that show makes me say WOOOOOW....), we also watched Cars 2 a few times, and Puss In Boots, we started Tarzan right before his Mom got home, but he made me skip the first part because the tiger is scary.  It was fun being a mom, but I am definitely not ready for that anytime soon, I was way too exhausted all the time.  (Okay, maybe I was tired because I partied too late into the night every night...)

One of my best friends, Courtney Millett, gave her mission farewell today.  I am just so full of emotions right now due to this.  I am so beyond thrilled for her.  I mean she is going to Hawaii for a year and half to teach and testify of the gospel and of Jesus Christ.  But at the same time, she is going to Hawaii for a year and half, and all we have to keep in touch is snail mail.  I've gotten a bit too used to having her around and seeing her weekly.  All I know is I am going to miss that girl a ton!

Just an hour after Courtney gave her farewell talk I attended my friend, Adam's, homecoming talk.  He just got home from Spain where he served his mission for two years.  I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while. (Okay, not true, but still...)  There were only a few friends who gathered both at the church and at his house, but it was our small group from high school.  It honestly felt like nothing had changed, yet so much has.  I loved that we were all able to get back together and have that immediate friendship come right back.  It is a great feeling.  One that I am so grateful for.  I have been having such a rough time over the past month or so with friends and knowing where I stand with people, so being able to be with the people who brought so much joy to my life again is wonderful!

School starts back up tomorrow after the lovely break, and of course I decided to get sick last night. Blah for colds!  Blah for school...

My family booked our yearly trip to St. George over the weekend.  I get so excited for that little trip every year! We have gone almost every year for the past 10 maybe 12 years, and we normally do the exact same thing, but I still look forward to it.  This year we're going to see both plays that are being performed at Tuacahn, 'Hairspray' and 'Aladdin'.  That may be why I'm so excited.  I love love LOVE Tuacahn and the musicals they perform.  So to be able to see both of them, during the same trip will be swell.
