Farewell to my childhood

The adventure started 12 years ago, when I was eight years old.  I found a book that allowed me to retreat to a different world, and become enthralled with things that were different from this world.  I could escape to the outskirts of London, England when times got hard and lose myself in the world of magic.  I had never been a fan of fantasy books, I preferred the realistic books, but something about this book got to me.  It made me enjoy fantasy, and the magical world.  I'm sure by now, you know I'm talking about Harry Potter.  I was never a Harry Potter "nerd".  But I truly loved, and still love the books.  I never attended the midnight parties for the books, and when the movies came out to theaters, I would just make my way to see it, eventually.  But, I was still excited whenever a new book, or new movie came out.  With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 being the end, I figured things needed to change.  I wanted to be a part of the celebrations, I wanted to make sure that I made the ending as amazing as the book itself.  So I bought myself, along with Savannah and her sister Meranda tickets to the midnight showing at Jordan Commons.  I made an I <3 H P shirt (I heart Harry Potter), I even had legit Harry Potter glasses.  Savannah and I spent 3 hours walking around Jordan Commons looking at all the costumes that people had created and taking pictures with some of the characters.

This would be my shirt.  I am pretty proud.

Right as the night started

Meranda practicing using Savannah's camera...I was super excited to finally have some water.

They look a little more scared...

We really wanted to get a picture with this dementor, it just took us all night to get up the courage to do so..

We're excited for the movie to start!!! Even though it started like 10 minutes late.

Pulled out my Harry Potter glasses for at least one picture.

I joked with my family that I would cry during the movie, it almost wasn't a joke.  It was just another reminder that I'm getting older, and my childhood is that much further behind me.  Plus it was just sad in general that Harry Potter is now over..
